About the artist.....

Amy Keehn

"I was always an artistic child, heavily involved in music, theatre, writing and drawing.  It was at the tender age of 10 when I "discovered' photography and incorporated it into my life as another artistic form of expression."

My formal training in photography includes a degree in commercial photography, 3 years of apprenticeships with portrait and wedding photographers, and 9 years printing professional and public/amateur work as a photo lab technician. I am also a graduate of Cosmo Casablanca Modeling School, studied classical opera at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and coached drama class at Fairdale High School.

I worked as a photojournalist for River City Music News and documented rock bands for the local nightclub, The Toy Tiger's, promotional materials.

It was in March 1994, when I began Keehn Images and went full time doing weddings, portraits, restorations, graphic design and promotional work.

My philosophy on weddings?

"Observe and record.  Document, don't dictate. A wedding is a live, uncontrolled event and it should be photographed as such."

My assistant photographers include Mark King, Gary Beals, Brett Neathery, Bradley Grigsby, and Igor Zoubko.
